Saturday 19th
Match day - GILLS v Bristol Rovers (EFL Sky Bet League 2)

Sunday 20th
The Gills have won 3 consecutive league matches for the first time since 30th August 2025. They have taken a 3-goal home lead for the first time since 2nd September 2025 when they beat Fulham U21s, a game in which they also last scored 3 second half goals at home.

Monday 21st
The Gills are the only side in League 2 to be on a 3-game winning streak and only 3 other sides have won 2 in a row. Bristol Rovers are the only other team in the division to have won 3 or more league games consecutively.

Tuesday 22nd
Match day - GILLS v Cambridge United (Vertu EFL Trophy - Southern Group G, Match 1)

Wednesday 23rd
The Gills have had back-to-back home league clean sheets against Tranmere and Bristol Rovers. The Gills only had a pair of consecutive home clean sheets on 1 occasion last season but they were separated by cup win without one.

Thursday 24th

Friday 25th
The Gills have scored 9 second half goals in 4 league games, as many goals as they managed after half time in their previous 20 league matches. Last season, 35 of the 53 league goals scored came during the second halves.

Isn't it lovely to have a successful team to support for a while, even if it doesn't last! Since my seat in the box has disappeared due to my friend's company no longer being the main sponsor, I haven't managed to get to a game, so to those of you who are seeing the matches live, what's it been like? Is there an obvious change from last season? Are we more organised and tactically aware or do we just have better players? Is the atmosphere inside the ground improving? when I went last season it was dire. Long may this good form continue: UTG's!!

Personally, I thought last season we had very good players. At the start of the season, their class shone but we didn't function as a team and sides figured us out quickly. This time, we have good players without many star names and Ainsworth seems to be growing the team. The biggest difference for me is lack of ego. A few last season acted like they were doing us a favour and the odd 1 or 2 percent drop in effort was enough to be second to the ball or get caught in possession.

We appear to have that ethos now. Youth players slot into positions and don't look out of place. Players are committed to the full 90 minutes and press for throws or chase down corners even when leading at going into the final minutes. Brophy looks like he has the tenacity, desire and passion that we've not seen since the days of Charlie Lee! And, for me, what is most pleasing is that this is still a makeshift side with many injuries! I have no idea what the starting 11 should be!
