I did have to sit with the W'don supporters as I was treated by a good friend (yes I do have one !!) who had access to an unneeded season ticket for the day

Love modern tech, or I would not be able to be on here........... to a point. Went shopping with a buddy, he only needed to get a dozen things, he either called ,text, fiddled or diddled with his dam phone and "spoke" to his wife every single time he picked something up off the shelf, yeah Gods man it's a loaf of******* bread, pick one up, put it in the cart and lets go, prices went up 10% we were in the shop so long .

But how much of it is really news and not just stuff that would have been on page 17 of the papers, but fills up the schedules. I have no problem with the modern world, but people who "can't exist" without an Iphone, twitter etc for a day just seems a bit much. I had ten days away without internet, a mobile that just made and received calls and texts and very limited TV, but had no withdrawal symptons. I read, chatted to people and watched a bit of TV in bars, but socialised. All this went to a restaurant today, am at the station waiting for a train etc just seems a bit trite!

I must admit, I never felt the need to chain a public telephone box to myself and drag it around to keep in contact with the whole world 24-7 when I were a nipper.

I agree ElG . In the age of celebrity everyone feels they must have an audience, even if it's only to put their bowel movements on record.
