- This is the Gills' 5th Round 2 appearance in 6 seasons. They last played non-league opposition in the second round in 2018 when they beat Slough Town away from home. 2 of the previous 4 Round 2 appearances saw the Gills progress to Round 3.
- In the Football League era, the Gills are unbeaten away from home against non-league opposition in the second round and have not conceded a goal however there have only been 3 meetings resulting in wins against Slough (2018) and Romford (1971) plus a draw with Maidstone (1980).
- The Gills have played 73 matches in the second round of the FA Cup, previously winning 25 and losing 29 of them. Away from home, they have won 10 and lost 20.
- After 1 win in 6 games in all competitions for Dagenham and Redbridge, the hosts have won their last 4 games scoring 10 goals and conceding just 2 in the process.
- Dagenham and Redbridge last lost at home at the start of September - a 0-5 defeat by Notts County. Since then, they are unbeaten in the 6 home games played, winning 4 of them. Those 6 games produced 17 goals for the hosts.
- Dagenham & Redbridge have not kept a home clean sheet since mid-August. 8 home games have been played since with 15 goals conceded including 9 in just 2 games. They have managed just 3 clean sheets all season but 2 have come in their last 3 games however both were away from home.
