- The Gills have needed a first round replay in 4 of the last 6 seasons and have won 2 replays in the last 3 seasons. The 7 rounds played in Rounds 2 and above in those 6 seasons have needed just 1 replay.
- The last 2 occasions in which the Gills faced a first round replay away from home saw both matches end 4-3. In 2018, the Gills went to Hartlepool and won 4-3 but lost 3-4 at Brackley 2 seasons prior to it.
- The last 5 matches for the Gills in all rounds of the FA Cup have all been at Priestfield (3 wins). They have won 2 of their last 4 away from home in all rounds of the cup.
- The Gills have won 3 and lost 7 of their 14 FA Cup Round 1 matches away from home against sides from the same division. Their away Round 1 total tally stands at W16, D18 and L24.

Just looked at the betting odds on this one. Betfred give evens for a Cheltenham win and 5/2 for a Gills win. Not often you get a "can't lose" bet

I;m assuming that both could lose if it was a draw , so not quite a "Can't lose" bet

Being a cup game there has to be a winner

And there was a winner, and it wasn't The Gills, I can't help thinking that maybe it is time Evans got on his bike and rode into the sunset . Gillingham are playing the worst football they have played for ages and I blame Evans for bringing in all these midfield players, there must be some forwards out there on free transfers that can kick the bloody ball into the back of the net occasionally for us. SEVENTEEN games into the season and we have scored a grand total of 16 goals for, 22 against ,I am sorry Mr.Evans but your days as the Gills Manager must come to an end before the New Year,it's just not working.

Bookies do two markets , one for 90 minutes , one for the win outright .

I'd assumed those odds to be for 90 mins as , if it was for outright , they would have at best taken absolutely no money at all on the game , and bookies work on a projected 18% margin . Hence , where there are two options , you will never see the odds as Evens/Evens ; you will see them as 5/6 / 5/6 , if there's nothing to distinguish between them

I wonder how much money is actually bet on a game between Gillingham and Cheltenham, take away maybe a couple of whales ,then I can't imagine very many people are going to bet on a team at evens, or the Gills at 5/2 ..What would you say the average bet is on a Gills game 20 pounds ?
