- The 19 matches played in League 1 by Wigan and the Gills combined have seen just 1 occasion when either side failed to score (the Gills lost a game 0-1 away from home). The 7 goals conceded by Wigan is the joint fewest in the division.
- Wigan have faced 24 shots on target (2.7 per game) which is the fewest in the division. The Gills have faced 57 (5.7 per game) which is the most in the division.
- Wigan lost 51% of their matches last season and lost at least 3 games in a row on 5 separate occasions. This season they have only lost 3 matches (23%) which have come on matchdays 1, 11 and 13.
