- Shrewsbury lead the wins 25 to the Gills' 20 and there have been 24 draws. Shrewsbury haven't won any of the last 4 meetings or any of the last 6 at home, the last 4 all ending level (1-1, 1-1, 2-2, 1-1). They last beat the Gills at home in October 2013.
- Shrewsbury are the only League 1 side to have lost all 4 games this season and are also the only side yet to score. They have conceded a lead in the first halves of all 4 of their league games with each proving to be the winning goal.
- Last season, Shrewsbury had the fewest shots off target and the 5th fewest shots on target. This season, their 42 shots off target is the most in the division but they have managed just 8 on target in their 4 games.
- Shrewsbury won 11 corners in their defeat to Plymouth, the joint highest total in a League 1 game this season. Their 4 league games have seen them give away 13 corners in total whilst the Gills have conceded 15 in their 4 games.
- Including the side's last meeting back in April, Shrewsbury have won just once in 14 league and cup games and are winless in 9. They have suffered 5 consecutive league defeats and have lost 7 of their last 8.
- Since Shrewsbury's last home win, a 3-0 win over Plymouth, they have lost 6 of their last 7 home league games with the most recent being a 0-3 loss to Plymouth. The other match in those 7 ended 0-0 meaning they have failed to score in 5 of those 7 home games.

(15.00) Kick Off [ 3 - 5 - 2 ]

(15.13) GOAL! Shrewsbury Town 0-1 Gillingham: Tucker

(15.18) Oliver was unlikely to start after being injured on Tuesday. He lands awkwardly and struggles to move. As he tries to run it off, he heads a Dempsey cross just over the bar.

(15.42) Shrewsbury have offered little and look low on confidence. A poor Gills back pass is latched upon but the striker seeks to pass rather than shoot which allows the Gills to recover.

(15.50) Good chance for Oliver to shoot at goal but he is flagged offside.

(15.50) Half time 0-1 [50:01]

(16.06) The second half kicks off.

(16.20) GOAL! Shrewsbury Town 1-1 Gillingham: Bloxham
Shrewsbury score from a spectacular overhead kick. It is their first league goal of the season and only their 3rd in the 7 games played in all competitions.

(16.29) GOAL! Shrewsbury Town 2-1 Gillingham: Cosgrove

(16.59) Red Card! Daniel Phillips (Gillingham) is sent off for 2 injury time yellow cards. Red Card! David Davis (Shrewsbury) is sent off for 2 injury time yellow cards after initially being allowed to stay on when the referee forgot he had already booked him.

(17.00) FULL TIME 1-1 [103:22]

(17.00) Red Card! Paul Raynor (Gillingham) is sent off. Steve Cotterill (Shrewsbury) entered the Gills area and was thought to have been sent off. Red Card! Harry Burgoyne (Shrewsbury) was sent off for violent conduct for wrestling Raynor to the ground.

Disappointing to lose after leading. Did feel that it was coming though their goals. Looked really feisty at the end, with Raynor knocked over.
