Its mad to think the new season starts in just two days. The World cup has made the off season go very quick! I will be making my first trip to Accrington on Saturday, hoping for a good start against a boyant Accrington side. They will be confident of getting their first win in league one,but hopefully we will defend a lot better than we did v Colchester last week.A draw would be a good start, and something to build on

As 2 nil wins go this was pretty convincing, don't think we were ever in any real trouble at any point in the game.

Well done team and to all the folk that made the trek - possibly the longest of the season.

I was up at 4am for the game, but it was worth getting up early for.We arrived around 1PM at the ground,so me and FOM went into their social club.I managed to buy three pints for £6! It was Happy hour,so £2 a pint.It was good to mix with their fans who were very friendly. As for the game we were in full control for most of the first half. They did come close to scoring first, but Ehmer did very well to head a certain goal off the line.We then took the lead when Hanlan slotted home on his debut. We then could have scored twice more before Parker struck the important second before H/T.He scored a trademark header after a lovely cross from O`Neill. In the second half we tried to keep it tight, and even though they had more of the ball,I don`t remember Holy being called into action really. We had a couple of chances to extend our lea when Parrett`s shot went just wide, and Eaves headed over.A great start to the season winning at a ground where they had not lost since December, and us looking a threat going forward.Charles-Cook had pace to burn which caused them problems.Bingham back in the Team was a big plus! He broke up play twice which lead to goals.Hanlan looked lively, and bagged a goal.Eaves when he came on looked unfit, but that is understandable.A great day, with 418 happy Gills fans making the trip.
