Port Vale (A) - 3 Jan 15

Draws are more prominent in matches involving the Gills and Port Vale. There have been 16 whilst both clubs have won 15 each.

Even though there have been a substantial number of draws, since 3 consecutive 0-0s in the late 80s only 4 of the last 19 ties have ended level.

Since the Gills and Port Vale played out a 2-2 draw back in November, both sides have won 2 and lost 2 in the league.

This is the 5th consecutive season in 2 different divisions the sides have faced each other. In the most recent 4 seasons the 7 ties saw only 1 clean sheet but 3 were achieved in the 2010/11 season.

A win for the Gills would see 3 consecutive away wins the first time since January 2013.

The Gills are looking to go 5 games unbeaten in league and cup for the first time since March 2013.

Port Vale have had 5 league draws this season; 3 of them finished 1-1 and 2 ended 2-2. The Gills have had 2 0-0's, 3 1-1's and 2 ended 2-2.

After a draw and 2 successive home defeats, Port Vale then won 4 and drew 1 of the following 5 and have 1 defeat in 7 at Vale Park.

Port Vale have just 2 clean sheets in the league (all at home) half the amount of the Gills. Only Scunthorpe have a worse total.

There have been 15 goals scored in the last 4 ties between the sides and also 15 goals in the last 4 Gills matches but only 10 in the last 4 Vale games.
