Match day - GILLS v Fleetwood Town (EFL Sky Bet League 2)
Sunday 8th
The draw against Fleetwood ended no home draws in 4 games and came after there had been 5 consecutive home draws. The 1-1 against Fleetwood was the Gills 8th home draw of the season and the last 3 have all been 1-1 and so too have 6 of the draws. Only the first 2 of the 6 away draws have ended 1-1.
Monday 9th
In the Barrow match, there were 7 offsides (4 for the Gills) in the first half of the match and a further 5 first half offsides (4 for the visitors) in the game against Fleetwood. 33 of the other 37 matches had seen 5 offsides or fewer in the whole of the game for both sides.
Tuesday 10th
Match day - GILLS v MK Dons (EFL Sky Bet League 2)
Wednesday 11th
Barrow (1), Fleetwood (1) and MK Dons (2) all struck the frame of the goal in 3 successive matches. Those 4 attempts hitting the woodwork came after Crawley did it twice in the same game and with none in the 16 games in between. It is now 18 times for the opposition after just 10 last season.
Thursday 12th
Sam Vokes saw a goal disallowed in the game against MK Dons, only the 2nd time a goal has been ruled out in the 49 games Ainsworth has been in charge for. In the 14 matches his predecessor John Coleman was in charge for, the Gills saw 3 goals ruled out.
Friday 13th
The Gills had accrued 21 points (6 wins) after 9 games this season (putting them in 1st position) but have added just 24 (5 wins) from the 26 after (leaving them 16th). Walsall had 26 points (8 wins and putting them 1st) from their first 12 and added 27 (7 wins) from the 24 games played since (currently 11th). This has been a similar story over the last couple of seasons:

Gills - 1st 8 games (Position 1) = 19 points, 6 wins. Last 38 (Pos 17) = 33 points, 6 wins.
Walsall - 1st 25 games (Position 1) = 58 points, 18 wins. Last 21 (Pos 4) = 16 points, 2 wins .
2023/24:
Gills - 1st 8 games (Position 1) = 18 points, 6 wins. Last 38 (Pos 12) = 46 points, 12 wins.
