So, was planning to enjoy another away day at AFC Wimbledon having been to more away games already this year than I went to the whole of last season until I read the ticket info on the website. 1 ticket only per season ticket holder, which obviously means I would have to go alone, and only 200m seats anyway; at my time of life standing for the whole game is not an attractive proposition! I am guessing this is because Wimbledon's ground isn't really up to our level of expectation which is a shame as I was looking forward to visiting a new ground. I might try to plead that I need my son as a carer, but I'm not sure Mr. Happy at the ticket office will buy that one! I'll let you know!!

Do you remember those long departed days when if you turned up in one of those blue disabled 3-wheelers you could drive up to the railings at the side of the pitch to watch a game?

I wonder how many tickets we will get then Lidbid? They brought quite a number to ours last season and I reckon we could end out packing 3 sides of their ground!!!!!

200 seated tickets and 650 terrace tickets!!

I remember the days when the horrific black 3 wheel handicapped vehicles were positioned between the goal posts and the corner posts behind the goal line at the Gillingham End , plenty of room there, at least three or four feet, between the line and the wall.lol.

A very dear friend of mine is suffering from Motor Neurone disease (and what a dreadful affliction. I've already lost one friend to this illness) Steve has been fighting the inevitable but has finally succumbed to using a wheelchair. He is a massive Hammers fan and went to his first match as a wheelchair user with his wife as his helper. He said it was fantastic and the Hammers club really went out of their way to help the disabled fans. Which is nice to hear and I hope that we as a club treat these fans as well, even though we are only a little club.

They play at Kingsmeadow , which is the ground where Kingstonian play , in Kingston upon Thames South London .

They've ground shared there for a number of years . The old ground was sadly lost amidst the whole debacle that saw the original Wimbledon FC first ground sharing with Crystal Palace , and then becoming Milton Keynes Dons .

Son took mine whilst I have a little holiday with Mrs Lidbid and daughter in Norwich, where she is at uni. Totally cut off here, can't even get Radio 5 live! Followed yesterday via Gary and other Twitter friends on Twitter - really nervewracking whilst going round Sainsbury's doing a shop for a poor student. There are now some traumatised Norwich residents who ran away when I yelled in triumph when the result finally reached me. Also had to suffer some rude looks from wife and daughter!!

Ha ha, know how you feel. We took the kids to a holiday park in Hayling Island (to visit the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth primarily) and the park had wi-fi but was very hit or miss. The mobile internet signal was non-existent (I have had better in the middle of nowhere) and I felt like someone had lopped my legs off and left me in a field with gaffer tape over my mouth!!!

To make matters worse, after packing I tried to log onto this website and got a message that read "Forbidden: You do not have permission to access this page". God the panic ensued, been on holiday for 2 hours and feared the site had gone down with all the back-ups on the PC at home. I couldn't access any pages to try to find out what was going on and even the website hosts page failed (thought they had gone out of business taking the website with it)!

Thankfully, I texted Gillsalltheway who said he was able to access the site on a PC and mobile. Phew! I felt like someone had run off with the kids and then I found them. Silly I know, but it struck home to me how much I rely on instant information to find stuff out. Twitter is fantastic when away to instantly have the news you want when you want it. How on Earth we ever coped before I really don't know!

The trouble with "instant" news it is quite often incorrect. Twitter allows individuals to put their own slant on the news. As for how did we manage before; we had a life that didn't revolve around trivialities, but just enjoyed life as it came.

Yes but times change. I remember when we only had 3 tv channels and news was at 6 and 10, no 24 hr News channels. Looking back, it was pretty crap really. I like this modern era and embrace it wholeheartedly. Sod that sitting by the tv on a saturday afternnon watching that awful teleprinter that always used to stop half way, so the result would come up as AFC Wimbledon 0 Gillingham (long pause, and you'd be praying for a goal and shouting at the telly) 1

Nothing wrong with modern technology like twitter as long as it is uised correctly and you get your info from reliable and trusted sources.
